Welcome to TCI Maine 2024. This year marks year 19 of TCI Maine and 17 years of IN PERSON comprehensible input based professional development.
1) Thursday 10/17/24 7:30-7:55 Park, check in , AM refreshments, visit with family. Take this time to enjoy each other and the FOOD! Oh, food....
1A) Parking (both days) there is parking in the lot immediately in front of the Ladle. There is also parking available across the road in the elementary school lot. Please give yourself enough time to make the short walk as many of you will need to park there. I have attached a map of the complex and noted parking in purple.
1B) Friday 10/18 7:30-7:55 Park, check in , AM refreshments, visit with family.
2) Please remember that this event is also a learning process for the hospitality & culinary arts students.
3A) There will be a table for name tags.
3B) Masking is supported at personal discretion.
4) Please use the Google link or QR code (to be sent out Wednesday evening) to check in. We have had times when people got lost or had car problems and we were able to track them down because we discovered they weren't there :)
5) Beth (& Bruce Carver!) will be manning the back table and those who need receipts should look for them there. Certificates of Attendance are sent out at the end after you complete the post-conference survey.
6) Food - If you provided info on dietary requests/needs such as vegan/vegetarian/GF items should be identified on the buffet. Any special individual dishes (such as desserts) will also be identified and set aside as needed. For example; If you see there are 3 gluten free blueberry something- or- others and you asked for GF, then please help yourself! If you didn't ask for GF but you think it looks amazing, please choose the group dessert option.
7) Materials: Terri Marrama, Mira and Martina will have some materials (I hear rumors of Mira's LATEST). Wayside also just reached out and will have materials again this year.
8) "Annual" Thursday evening dinner at The Chick-a-dee in Lewiston. This isn't required or an official part of the conference. There will be a signup sheet on Thursday so that we may give them a heads up.
10) Friday 10/13 - TCI Maine also knows how to have FUN and keep it real. Please consider wearing a FUN shirt for our second day. So find your old Hawaiian shirt, the U2 classic, Sr Wooly tee, or rep your school spirit and be happy!
11) Saturday coaching - due to lack of interest & availability it will not take place this year. We will revisit incorporating it into the schedule for 2024.
