"Probably the best conference I have been to. State conferences (COLT and MAFLA) do not compare. The site was perfect. Since everything was in once place we had more time to get to know other attendees."
"Most helpful were coaching (Sat for me) and being a participant (Anne's lesson and Sabrina's MovieTalk). Backward Planning was good and may be good for the dreaded curriculum map stuff we have to do. I got a much better sense of Embedded Reading than I was able to get by reading about it. I did not realize Anne was a teacher in Maine. She is a state treasure"
"Fabulous! Great great conference! Great people!"
"I enjoyed the opportunity to mix with folks advocating for kids around them acquiring language. I appreciate that this is a teacher-driven methodology and is not coming from admin. or university academics. Good space, warm enough, great food, wonderful company."
" I loved the coaching workshop. Everything about it. It was hands-on, it gave us a chance to connect with others that we may not have met bc of the small group format, and it felt very safe and encouraging. "
"EXCELLENT!!! I was already feeling inspired after the first day and even more so today now that it is over. For me, it was the best teacher conference I have ever been to. I learned so much and my head is full of ideas. I can't wait to get started... I also very much appreciated the kindness and general friendliness of all the participants and presenters. The presenters were so easy to talk to and always addressed any questions I had...I already can't wait till next year."
"This is one of the best regional workshops for language teachers who are working toward using comprehensible input. It has a small family feel, thanks to Beth and Skip.
The site, the Green Ladle, is facility of the culinary department of the local voc-tech school. The food is fantastic. It includes breakfast and lunch w/ coffee all day. The speakers are top notch. Even if you cannot go you should check out their websites.....Hope you can go and take someone with you." - Nathaniel Hardt
